COLUMBIA, S.C. – The University of South Carolina men’s tennis team is set to entertain Elon in non-conference action on Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. at the USC Indoor Fieldhouse. The match was originally scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Sam Daniel Tennis Facility, however, due to forecasted inclement weather, the match time was changed. Carolina brings a 6-1 record to Friday’s match while Elon is 4-2 this season.
South Carolina traveled to No. 17 Wake Forest last Sunday, dropping a 4-2 decision to the Demon Deacons. Carolina won at both No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. The team of senior Yevgeny Supeko and sophomore Diego Cubas captured an 8-6 victory at No. 1, upsetting the 45th-ranked team of Mariusz Adamski and Carolos Salmon. At No. 3, redshirt junior Jaime Cuellar and sophomore Ivan Cressoni defeated Iain Atkinson and Charles Sartor in a tight match at 9-7 to secure the doubles point for the Gamecocks. Freshman Johannes Pulsfort won the lone Gamecock singles match against Wake Forest, improving his record to 6-5 for the spring season.
