COLUMBIA, S.C. –
The South Carolina men’s tennis team (10-12, 1-10 SEC) has earned the No. 12 seed in the upcoming SEC Tournament and will face fifth-seeded Alabama in the opening round on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. (ET). The 2008 event will be hosted by Arkansas at the Outdoor Tennis Complex in Fayetteville, April 17-20. Alabama won the 2008 regular season meeting between the two schools on April 4, 6-1, while the Crimson Tide hold a 13-17 advantage in the all-time series between the two schools. The winner of Thursday’s contest between the Gamecocks and Crimson Tide will face fourth-seeded Florida on Friday at 2:30 p.m. (ET).
