COLUMBIA, S.C. — Lindsay Small from the Gamecock women’s soccer team has been named AgSouth Athlete of the week.
Small had a career week for the Gamecock women’s soccer team. A junior, Small earned her first career points in Sunday’s win against Boston University with the game-winning goal in the 56th minute.
Normally a defensive midfielder, she continued the offensive run in Carolina’s next game by scoring the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory against rival Clemson at Stone Stadium. The win helped push South Carolina to the Carolina’s Cup Tournament Championship, and Small was named Tournament MVP for her efforts.
She leads South Carolina with two goals and four points on the year with a .333 shot percentage. Her two game-winning goals puts her first in the SEC.
