South Carolina women’s basketball head coach Dawn Staley and her staff volunteered at the Isabel Law Breast Cancer Breakfast, formerly known as the Mayor’s Breast Cancer Breakfast, Friday morning. Coach Staley helped run the grill, making hundred of pancakes while assistant coaches Carla McGhee, Nikki McCray and Lisa Boyer helped serve.
The Mayor’s office holds this event each year to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research. Proceeds from this year’s breakfast will benefit Isabel Law’s Bosom Buddies Program, which helps purchase special bras for women who have had mastectomies.
Those who did not attend but would like to make a donation, can make checks payable to Mayor’s Campaign Against Breast Cancer, and send them to the attention of Julie Ruff, Special Assistant to the Mayor; PO Box 147, Columbia, SC 29217.
