The South Carolina cross country team made its first appearance of the season in the NCAA Division I cross country regional rankings, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced Monday. The Gamecocks are ranked 14th in the Southeast Region.
South Carolina has had a successful cross county season so far, claiming first at the Gamecock Invitational and taking home second at both the Eye Opener Invitational and the Asics Winthrop Invitational. Only two teams have out-run the Gamecocks this season, including Clemson and Louisville, both programs that also claimed a top-15 ranking in the Southeast division.
