COLUMBIA, S.C. — Senior middle blocker Belita Salters from the Gamecock volleyball team has been named AgSouth Athlete of the Week.

Salters led South Carolina in kills in both victories this weekend against Arkansas and Ole Miss. She compiled the best hitting performance in the SEC this year with her .857 mark against Arkansas. One more swing would have landed Salters in the top three of the single-match hitting percentage charts.

She followed that performance with a team-best 17 kills in the four-set win over Ole Miss. Her six blocks on the weekend put her just one block assist away from tying for seventh all-time in both block assists and total blocks in her career.

Salters has led the SEC in hitting throughout the season.
