Game Preview
South Carolina looks to improve to 4-0 at home to start the Darrin Horn era against Gardner-Webb on Tuesday. The meeting marks just the second all-time between the two schools. The Gamecocks won the previous meeting, 83-74, during the 2003-04 campaign. South Carolina (3-0) has defeated its opponents by an average of 19.3 points per contest, while winless Gardner-Webb (0-3) has lost by a combined eight points (2.67/game) in three games to start the year. South Carolina holds an 83.3-74.0 advantage in scoring per game, but the Runnin’ Bulldogs bring five players averaging double-digit points to Colonial Life Arena on Tuesday against Carolina’s four. The meeting marks the first between Horn and GWU head coach Rick Scruggs.

Tuesday’s contest will be televised by SportSouth with Mike Morgan calling play-by-play and Dan Bonner handling color analyst duties. Tuesday’s meeting between South Carolina and Gardner-Webb marks the second in the all-time history between the two schools. South Carolina won the only previous meeting during the 2003-04 season, 83-74.

Holmes pulled down four offensive boards against Jacksonville State in the season opener and followed with a team-high seven against both Winthrop and USC Upstate. As a team, South Carolina leads the league with an average of 17.67 offensive board per game.
