Nov. 25, 2008

University of South Carolina Athletics Director Eric Hyman announced today that more than 51,000 and 92% of 2009 season football tickets have been committed through the Yearly Equitable Seating (YES) program, exceeding the standards of participation in seat donation programs experienced by other peer institutions. Hyman introduced the YES program in August in conjunction with The Garnet Way, as part of the mission to build a championship-caliber athletics program at the University.

“We feel proud of the commitment our fans have demonstrated to providing South Carolina with the resources we need to attract and retain the best that collegiate athletics has to offer,” said Hyman. “Gamecock fans deserve an athletics program that will support our common goal of battling for championships, and we appreciate each and every fan that joined us in this effort through their participation in the YES program.”

Hyman added, “Combined with the overwhelming demand for season tickets for our new baseball park, we feel the response to the YES program is an affirmation of our fans’ desire to create the atmosphere and the infrastructure we need to be successful on a scale never before seen here at South Carolina.”

In addition to enhancing the University’s athletic programs, the other major objective of YES was to open up new seating opportunities for Gamecock fans who wished to improve their current seats or gain access to seating which was not previously available. This objective has clearly been met as well, and for the first time in more than ten years, approximately 3,500 season tickets are available to Gamecock fans. There has never been a more opportune time for South Carolina fans to join the Gamecock Club and reserve full season tickets for the 2009 football season at Williams-Brice. To learn more about how you can join the Gamecock Club and purchase tickets please call 803.777.SEAT or visit www.gamecockclub.org.

YES Statistics

• Over 1,200 Gamecock Club members have requested additional seats for the 2009 football season

• Of the over 11,000 current season ticket holders, less than 500 have waived 2009 season tickets

• 993 current season ticket holders did not respond to the YES Office
