–With the win, South Carolina improves to 71-52 all-time against their neighbors from the Upstate. Furman’s last win against the Gamecocks came during the 1980 season.

–South Carolina has led at the half in all seven of its games this year; however, the Gamecocks’ 35 points at the break tonight marked their fewest points scored in the first half this season.

–The 48 points scored by Furman marked the fewest allowed by the Gamecocks this season. South Carolina’s 72 was also a season low.

–South Carolina made 23 free throws on 34 attempts, season highs in both categories.

–With his 19 points tonight, Devan Downey has now scored in double-digits in every game this season. He also had two assists and two steals on the night, and shot 10-of-11 from the free-throw line.

–Dominique Archie finished one rebound shy of a double-double, scoring 10 points and pulling down nine boards to go along with three steals. Zam Fredrick finished just two rebounds short of his own double-double with 11 points and eight rebounds. It marks the sixth time this season Fredrick has scored in double-digits.

–Evaldas Baniulis hit double-digits for the fourth time in five contests with his 12 points. He continued his hot streak from beyond the arc, knocking down three of his five attempts.

–Mitchell Carter set a career high with two blocks in tonight’s contest. He scored two points in eight minutes of action. Austin Steed also equaled a career high with a pair of blocks as well.
