The Dawn Staley Foundation, working with Select Health of South Carolina, hosted the Dawn Staley Grandparents Breakfast Wednesday morning at the Brookland Baptist Church Banquet and Conference Center in West Columbia. Nearly 70 grandparents were honored for the sacrifices they made not only for their children but for their grandchildren as well. Names were submitted by area churches, local radio stations and the AARP, and the Dawn Staley Foundation brought everyone together to enjoy breakfast and be showered with gifts.
Several Gamecock players took time out from studying for exams to help serve breakfast and hand out gifts. Also on hand to help with the food service were area dignitaries, including:
