2009 Camp Brochure

COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina head basketball coach Darrin Horn and his staff have announced summer camp dates for 2009. Three camps will be offered, including the Little Gamecocks Camp (June 8-10), the Gamecocks Skills and Showcase Camp (June 22-25) and the Gamecocks Individual Camp (July 12-15, both a day and overnight option).

The Little Gamecocks Camp (June 8-10) is for the next Gamecock legend. The camp is available for boys and girls, ages 4-7. Camp attendees will work with South Carolina players and staff on the fundamentals of basketball, while campers will also enjoy an appearance by the nation’s best mascot, “Cocky!” Cost for the camp is $100 per camper.

The Gamecocks Skills and Showcase Camp (June 22-25) is centered around young men (ages 7-rising high school seniors) who aim to develop themselves both mentally and physically as it relates to the game of basketball. The camp will focus on togetherness as well as all aspects of the game including, stations, 3-on-3 games, 5-on-5 games, and various skill competitions. Cost for the camp is $225.

The final camp on the 2009 summer camp docket is the Gamecocks Individual Camp (July 12-15), which offers the complete camp experience for both day and overnight campers (ages 10-rising high school seniors). Along with focusing on all aspects of the game (ball handling, shooting, defense, and in-game situations) this camp will also encourage character, team unity and good sportsmanship. Cost for day camp option is $250, while the overnight option is available for a cost of $350.
