COLUMBIA, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Athletics Department and the Gamecock men’s basketball team is challenging fans to an “Operation Garnet” for the final home men’s basketball game against Tennessee on March 5. All fans coming are encouraged to wear Garnet to the nationally televised game on ESPN with a 7 p.m. tip time. Students are encouraged to continue to wear their Garnet Army T-shirts. The contest will serve as senior day for Gamecock seniors Branden Conrad and Zam Fredrick. As of Friday afternoon, under 3,000 tickets remain for the general public for the game.

“Operation Garnet” is the second organized effort of the year. South Carolina Athletics coordinated a successful “Operation Sellout” for the February 7 contest against Georgia, which was a success as the game was only the second sellout in the history of Colonial Life Arena for a men’s basketball game.

There are several ways you can help make “Operation Garnet” a success. Single-game tickets are still available starting at $15 by calling 800-4SC-FANS (800-472-3267) or by going to GamecocksOnline.com. In addition, you can get a Garnet T-shirt to wear to the game at the GamecockOnline.com online store.

Let’s make “Operation Garnet” a success. Go Gamecocks!
