ATLANTA, Ga. – University of South Carolina junior point guard Devan Downey earned Associated Press All-SEC First Team honors for the second-consecutive season and junior forward Dominique Archie earned honorable mention accolades, as announced by the organization on Monday.

The 2009 squad marks the third straight season that a Gamecock point guard has been named to the AP and coaches All-SEC First Team, as Tre Kelley earned first-team honors on both squads in 2007 and Downey has earned selection to both squads during both of his seasons at South Carolina (2008, 2009).

Downey rates third in the SEC in scoring with19.9 points, he averages 4.5 assists and 3.0 steals per game, while he has tallied double figures in scoring in 29 of 30 games this season and has tallied three or more steals 17 times.

Archie currently leads the team with 35 blocks (1.2 bpg) on the year, while his 46 steals (1.5 spg) ranks second to only Downey. To date, Archie has started all 92 games of his Carolina career. Archie was also selected to the coaches All-SEC Second Team and the coaches All-Defensive Team.
