The South Carolina women’s soccer team held a free clinic April 8 with over 150 girls coming out to get tips from the Gamecock soccer team and enjoy appearances by the Carolina cheerleaders and everyone’s favorite mascot, Cocky.

Despite overcast skies and the threat of rain, area girls ages 5-12 came out to Stone Stadium for the two hour clinic that involved various stations with members of the South Carolina women’s soccer team. Following the clinic, the Gamecocks signed brand new 2009 posters for all of the participants, and two autographed jersey’s were given away as part of the free raffle.

Parents were also able to sign up for the 2009 Carolina Soccer School summer camps. Early discount options were made available, and you can still sign up for the early discounts by CLICKING HERE.

South Carolina would like to thank its four food sponsors that helped make the event run off without a hitch. Firehouse Subs, Jimmy Johns, Papa Johns and Which Which all donated to the cause and have been wonderful sponsors in ensuring that the group of 150-plus kids had a good time.
