COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina junior Diego Cubas and freshman Ivan Machado earned bids to the NCAA Men’s Tennis Individual Championships on Wednesday. Cubas, ranked No. 54 in the country earned one of the 48 at-large bids into the NCAA Singles Championship. Forming the nation’s No. 24-ranked doubles team, he and Machado collected one of the 17 at-large bids into the NCAA Doubles Championship.

Cubas has a career-best 20-14 single record this season, including a win over then-No. 2 Bruno Agostinelli of Kentucky. The Cubas/Machado doubles team has a 15-10 record this season, including a 13-9 record in the Gamecocks’ No. 1 slot in dual matches. They have defeated six opponents ranked in the top 40 in the nation.

Both the singles and doubles events will take place May 20-25 at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center in College Station, Texas.
