The University of South Carolina Athletics Department will host its annual Colonial Life Fan Appreciation Day on Sunday, August 16, at the Colonial Life Arena. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. and the event, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Head Coach Steve Spurrier and the Gamecock football squad will be on hand to sign autographs from 1-2:30 p.m. Coach Mark Berson’s men’s soccer team, Coach Shelley Smith’s women’s soccer team, and Coach Ben Somera’s volleyball team will also be available to sign autographs from 12:30-1:30 pm. The Gamecock cheerleaders and Cocky will be in attendance as well.

The South Carolina Athletics Department will supply the official 2009 Gamecock team posters for players and coaches to sign. Signing other items will not be allowed due to NCAA compliance issues. Fans are asked to cooperate with this policy and request an autograph on the team poster only. The posters should be for personal use only and not intended for sale.

Due to the high demand for many of the players’ and coaches’ autographs, the lines will be monitored and closed to ensure that fans are not waiting for autographs with no chance of reaching the signing table by the event’s conclusion.
