COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina fans have the chance to purchase season tickets for men’s soccer, women’s soccer and volleyball for the first time with a new plan announced today. Adult season tickets are $25 per sport, while youth can get a season ticket for just $10 by calling the South Carolina Ticket Office at (803) 777-4274 or through the new online ticket system located here.
The men’s soccer team returns a wealth of veteran talent, including Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Hermann Trophy Watch List goalkeeper Jimmy Maurer. The Mark Berson-coached squad hosts nine home matches this season, including big matchups against Tulsa, SMU and Wake Forest at Stone Stadium.
Shelley Smith’s women’s soccer team has been to back-to-back NCAA Tournaments and brings back 10 starters from a year ago, including 2007 SEC Defensive Player of the Year Blakely Mattern. The Gamecocks host SEC Western Division co-champion Auburn among its nine home matches this season.
The Gamecock volleyball squad, coached by Ben Somera, returns five starters and their libero from last year’s 21-9 team. Leading that returning group are honorable mention AVCA All-South Region seniors Bridget Denson-Dorman and Ivana Kujundzic. Thirteen home matches at the Volleyball Competition Facility are on tap in 2009, including a date against 18-time SEC champ Florida on Wed., Oct. 7, that will be broadcast on ESPNU.
The new ticket system, run by Ticketmaster, is live, while you can still get the season tickets in person at Colonial Life Arena Box Office or by calling 1-800-4SC-FANS (472-3267).
