COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina basketball coaches Darrin Horn and Dawn Staley recently participated in the Healthy Hoops Midlands Challenge, a one-day basketball camp with instruction and tips on the game of basketball for children with asthma and their siblings. The program also included asthma screenings and asthma education for parents.

Horn and Staley instructed different age groups during the day on the skills and fundamentals of basketball through drills and activities.

Members of the Midlands Healthy Hoops Coalition helped spread the word on the event, while the South Carolina Asthma Alliance (SCAA), provided health screenings. Approximately 140 children from the Midlands area participated in the event.
