COLUMBIA, S.C. – Senior Megan Massaro from the Gamecock equestrian team has been named the AgSouth Athlete of the Week for her performance in the Gamecocks’ 12-8 victory at Auburn on Oct. 2.

Massaro is a member of the Hunter Seat team and won both of her contests Friday against the Tigers. In the Equitation Over Fences, Massaro won her contest 83-80 and picked up MVP of the class, her second MVP of the season. She also won her contest in Equitation on the Flat as the Hunter Seat team defeated the Tigers 7-3.

Massaro leads the Gamecocks with three victories this season. She is one of the top Hunter Seat riders in South Carolina history. Last year, the senior posted a 22-4-3 record and was named MVP ten times and was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
