COLUMBIA, S.C. – The University of South Carolina men’s soccer team travels to face Conference USA foe Memphis in the final contest of the regular season for both schools on Saturday at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex in Memphis. Carolina enters the contest with a 7-7-3 overall mark, including a 2-3-2 record in league play.

South Carolina leads the all-time series against Memphis, 2-1-2. Memphis won the matchup between the two schools last season 2-0. The last win for Carolina in the series came in a 2-1 double overtime victory during the 2006 season.

Junior striker Sam Arthur continues to pace the Gamecock offense with eight goals on the year, while classmate Blake Brettschneider, senior forward Bryan Lowder and junior defender Will Traynor have each contributed two goals. Goalkeeper Jimmy Maurer, who has played every minute in net for Carolina this season, owns a 1.24 goals against average entering Saturday’s matchup against Memphis.

Memphis enters Saturday’s contest with a 6-7-2 overall mark, including a 2-5-0 Conference USA record. Parker Duncan paces the offense with four goals and three assists, while Jon Wright has added three goals. J.J. Greer has collected a team-best five assists on the year. Like Maurer, Tiger goalkeeper Michael Goodlett has played every minute in net for Memphis. Goodlett owns a 1.36 goals against average on the year, while collecting 55 saves. Saturday’s match will serve as senior night for the Tigers.
