COLUMBIA, S.C. – Brooke Jacobs from the Gamecock women’s soccer team has been named AgSouth Athlete of the Week.
Jacobs scored the game winning goal in both of South Carolina’s matches this weekend to lead the team to the NCAA Sweet 16. She earned a goal and an assist against Davidson in Carolina’s 4-0 win and scored the lone goal in the 1-0 second round match.
Jacobs has now scored a goal in each of South Carolina’s last three NCAA games, dating back to the 2008 game against William & Mary. All three of those goals have come in the first round. She currently leads the team with three game winning goals this year and holds the South Carolina record with eight points in NCAA matches.
