COLUMBIA S.C. –
South Carolina’s “Read with the Gamecocks” reading program is announcing its winners of the second segment, themed health and nutrition. The program took place December 14-26. Each participant recorded the amount of pages read over the holiday break with his/her parent or guardian’s approval. At the end of the contest, participants submitted their results to their teachers. The 3,500 students read a combined two million pages. Winners from each grade (K-5) were selected and will be honored at the Health and Nutrition game against Auburn on Sun., Jan. 17.

The winners for this segment are from the following schools:

Kindergarten – Shanklin Elementary
1st Grade – Lake Carolina Elementary
2nd Grade – Congaree Elementary
3rd Grade – Lake Carolina Elementary
4th Grade – Classical Conversations Home School Group
5th Grade – Whitmire Elementary
