South Carolina earned the No. 8 seed in the 2010 SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament, which begins on Thu., Mar. 4, at the Arena at Gwinett Center in Duluth, Ga. The Gamecocks will face No. 9 seed Ole Miss in the noon game on FSN. The winner of the first-round matchup will take on top-seeded Tennessee at noon on Friday.

Finishing the regular season with a 14-14 overall record and a 7-9 slate in conference play, the Gamecocks earned their highest tournament seeding since also slotting into eighth place in 2007, the last time the tournament was played in Duluth. That year, South Carolina edged out ninth-seeded Auburn 65-63 before falling to No. 1-seed Tennessee 81-63.
