COLUMBIA, S.C.Paul Woodbury from the South Carolina men’s golf team has been named AgSouth Athlete of the Week.

Woodbury has posted five consecutive rounds under par dating back to the second round of last week’s Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate. He tied for third place at this week’s Administaff Augusta State Invitational, posting rounds of 69-67-70=206 (-10) to equal teammate George Bryan IV in the final standings. His total of 206 was his career best 54-hole score by six shots, and his round of 67 on Saturday afternoon also marked a career-best, helping the Gamecocks shoot a school-record 266 (-22) en route to a team runner-up finish at 833 (-31).

The senior from Lake City, S.C., has played in all nine tournaments for the Gamecocks this season, carrying a 72.44 stroke average over 25 rounds. He has won two tournaments this season, claiming medalist honors at the Rees Jones Intercollegiate in October and the Seminole Intercollegiate in March, winning playoffs in both events.
