COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina equestrian coach Boo Major has announced the signing of Alison Ceresani to a national letter of intent to join the Gamecocks for the 2010-2011 season. Known to her friends as Ali, Ceresani will be on the Gamecocks Western team and will compete in Horsemanship.

Ceresani brings an impressive resume to South Carolina’s Western team: 2009 AQHYA 8th High Point Youth All Around, 2009 AQHYA 5th High Point Performance Gelding, 2009 AHQYA 6th Limited Rider High Point Youth Western Horsemanship, Three Top-10 Finishes at Congress, and was selected to represent Team USA at the 2010 AQHA Youth World Cup Competition.

“Alison brings a wealth of show experience to the table being an accomplished all around rider,” Major said. “Her trainer, Gary Weeks, has done an excellent job preparing her for her college career in equestrian. With so many graduating seniors in horsemanship this year, we think Alison will have an opportunity to work her way into our lineup early.”
