COLUMBIA, S.C. – Three South Carolina student-athletes visited Brookland-Cayce Grammar School No. 1 on Thursday to participate in the school’s annual Reading Parade.

Sophomore Kenny Davis (football), junior Shaq Wilson (football), and senior Jewel May (women’s basketball) visited several classrooms at the school, reading to students and emphasizing the importance of earning good grades. Davis, Wilson, and May also told students at the school that working hard in class and earning good grades helped them become successful students at the University of South Carolina.

The University of South Carolina CHAMPS/Life Skills program is committed to providing volunteer opportunities for student-athletes and to show the importance of giving back to the community. A number of student-athletes perform individual community service hours in a variety of areas.

If you would like to invite members of Team Gamecocks to your local event, please call the CHAMPS/Life Skills Office at (803) 777-0319.
