COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Gamecock men’s soccer team will host College of Charleston in an exhibition contest on Saturday at Stone Stadium. The match, South Carolina’s final exhibition of the season, will kick off at 7 p.m.

South Carolina is set to play its first competition of the 2010 campaign at Stone Stadium on Saturday against the Cougars. In the all-time series between the two schools, South Carolina owns a 16-5-3 upperhand, including a 12-3-1 record in Columbia. The teams last met during the 2008 season in Charleston, with the Gamecocks earning a 4-0 victory behind two goals from then-sophomore Sam Arthur and two from then-senior Kevan Hawkins.

Charleston enters Saturday’s contest having already played two exhibition contests in 2010, the first, a 1-1 draw with Central Florida, followed by a 2-1 victory over Presbyterian College. Charleston collected an 11-10-0 record in 2009, falling in the semifinals of the Southern Conference Tournament to Elon to conclude the season.
