• Records: South Carolina improves to 9-5 on the season. Longwood drops to 3-13. The Gamecocks have completed the non-conference portion of their schedule, marking the 11th consecutive year South Carolina has posted a winning record outside of SEC play. The Gamecocks are 7-1 at home this season.
• Head Coach Darrin Horn: Improves to 141-63 in his seventh season as a collegiate coach, including a 30-15 mark in his second season at South Carolina.
• Tonight’s starting lineup of Devan Downey, Lakeem Jackson, Sam Muldrow, Brandis Raley-Ross and Ramon Galloway was the fifth different starting five employed by the Gamecocks this season. Downey, Jackson and Muldrow have started every game.
• South Carolina led 47-24 at the half, only one point short of its largest halftime lead this season (24 vs. Alabama A&M). The 24 points by the Lancers marked the smallest offensive output by a Gamecock opponent in the first half this season.
• Longwood committed 22 turnovers, marking the seventh time this season South Carolina has forced its opponent into 20 or more giveaways.
• Freshman G Ramon Galloway made his initial career start in tonight’s game as the Gamecocks opened with a four-guard lineup.
• Devan Downey poured in 16 first-half points and finished with 18 after playing sparingly in the second half. He also had six assists and three steals.
• Evka Baniulis scored a season-high 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting, all from three-point range. His five three-pointers was his most in a game since also knocking down five against Auburn last season.
• Sam Muldrow recorded three blocks in tonight’s game, giving him 123 for his career and moving him into a tie for 7th place all-time at South Carolina with Tony Kitchings in the Carolina record book. Muldrow also pulled down a season-high nine rebounds and scored six points.
• Stephen Spinella tied career highs in points (5) and rebounds (3).
