COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina equestrian coach Boo Major has announced the signing of Catherine Pasmore to a national letter of intent to join the Gamecocks for the 2011-2012 season. Pasmore will be competing with South Carolina’s Hunt Seat squad.

“An unfortunate accident sidelined Catherine this fall. She had taken the year off to concentrate on all the equitation finals this fall and had an unfortunate accident at a show and broke her collarbone,” Major said. “I know she was disappointed but think she will be recovered by the spring so she can continue riding in the jumper division. Catherine has lots of mileage showing and will help improve our hunt seat team in the fall of 2011.”

A well-seasoned rider, Pasmore trains with Lauren Kraut and has competed at the elite level, and brings an impressive resume to the Gamecocks. A qualifier at the ASPCA Maclay Nationals Championships, she was a qualifier from 2006-2009, taking home fifth place in 2007 at the National Regional Championship qualifer.
