South Carolina vs. Wofford Post-Game Notes (12/5/10)

TEAM NOTES

• South Carolina improved its winning streak to six games this season. The six-game winning streak is the longest winning streak in the Darrin Horn era, besting the five straight from December 2-23 in his first season (2008-09).
• South Carolina won the rebounding margin 36-29. The Gamecocks have out-rebounded their opponents in seven of eight games this season, the lone exception being last Sunday’s win against Clemson.
• South Carolina improves to 42-19 all-time in the series against Wofford. Carolina also moves to 30-7 against the Terriers in Columbia.
• South Carolina held Wofford to a season-low 20 points in the first half. Wofford’s previous season-low in a half of basketball this year was 21 points (first half) in a 69-55 loss at Minnesota in the season opener.
• Four technical fouls were called in the game – two for each team. South Carolina’s Malik Cooke and Ramon Galloway were whistled for technicals, and Wofford’s Jamar Diggs received two technical fouls.
• Double technical fouls were called on South Carolina’s Malik Cooke and Wofford’s Jamar Diggs with 12:29 remaining in the second half.
• Wofford’s Jamar Diggs was ejected with 5:08 remaining in the second half after receiving his second technical foul of the night.
• The Gamecocks have used the same starting lineup in every game this season (Cook-Jackson-Muldrow-Richardson-Ellington).

INDIVIDUAL NOTES

#15 Malik Cooke
• Finished with four steals – his highest mark as a Gamecock – for the second straight game. For the second straight game, Cook had two steals in the opening four minutes of the game.

#23 Bruce Ellington
• Tied a career high with three made three-pointers.
• Has made a three-pointer in seven consecutive games, finishing 3-for-8 from beyond the arc.

#24 Damontre Harris
• Tied his career high with four points, all coming in the first half.

#44 Sam Muldrow
• Earned his second career double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Muldrow’s only other double-double came in a 19-point, 11-rebound effort against Georgia (Jan. 30, 2010).
• Had a season high with 14 rebounds, his first double-digit rebounding game of the season. He was two shy of his career high.
• Is now 59 blocks shy of the South Carolina all-time record that is held by Brandon Wallace (249). Muldrow had three blocks Saturday against Wofford, marking the fourth consecutive game that he’s rejected three or more shots.
• Had a season high with two made three-point field goal. Muldrow finished 2-for-2 from beyond the arc.

#2 Brian Richardson
• Tied his career high with one block.
• Was held without a field goal for the first time in his career. Richardson, who finished with two points (2-for-2 free throws), also did not hit a three-point field goal for the first time in his career. He went 0-for-3 from the field and 0-for-2 from beyond the arc.

UP NEXT

South Carolina travels to No. 2 Ohio State (7-0) next Saturday for a 2 p.m. marquee matchup on CBS. The game will be the second nationally-televised match for South Carolina and their second game against a ranked opponent. The Gamecocks dropped an 82-73 decision to then-No. 2 Michigan State on Nov. 16 on ESPN.
