COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina suffered a 67-58 loss to No. 12/12 Kentucky on Saturday at Colonial Life Arena. Senior forward Sam Muldrow collected his fifth double-double of the season with 23 points and 13 rebounds, both team highs in the contest.
The win was the first for Kentucky at Colonial Life Arena since the 2008 campaign. Freshman guard Bruce Ellington was plagued by early foul trouble, playing just eight minutes in the opening half. He finished with eight points and four assists.
Muldrow blocked three shots and is now just 16 blocks away from surpassing Brandon Wallace for first in South Carolina history in the category.
Freshman guard Brandon Knight led the Wildcats with 23 points, while Darius Miller added 18 and Terrence Jones 14.
South Carolina hosts Auburn on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
