Head Coach Dawn On Vanderbilt’s play to close the game
I think Vandy is the type of team that has been in that situation before. Jence Rhoads just put her team on her back and carried them to the win. All credit goes to their ability to make plays at the end of the game.

On South Carolina’s late game struggles
I just felt like we tried to get it back very quickly, rather than moving the ball and figuring out where we could find mismatches. I thought we did that well to build the lead, but late in the ball game we didn’t. The other thing that killed us late in the game was lay-ups and free throws. If we were able to convert in those two areas the last five minutes the way we did the first 35 minutes, then we win the game.

On her team’s postseason prospects
We’re sad that we didn’t send our seniors off on a high note here at the Colonial Life Arena, but we’ve still got a lot of basketball life. I think we still control our own destiny. If we can win a couple games in the SEC Tournament, we’ll still be in the conversation as far as the NCAA Tournament.

Ieasia On difficulty defending Vanderbilt down the stretch
I just think they were executing their offense. They were going to the basket and attacking us, trying to make the refs call fouls and they were finishing with contact, which was the difference. We weren’t finishing with contact. I think that was the difference maker.

On postseason play
We need to get some wins in the SEC Tournament. I think the more wins we get, the better shot we have. We just need to come in with fresh minds, get these losses out of our system, and just push forward.
