COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Gamecock equestrian team fell two spots in the latest coaches poll, it was announced today. South Carolina is now ranked eighth in the bi-monthy poll, voted on by the Varsity Equestrian head coaches.

South Carolina (5-8) had been ranked sixth since the fall semester, but after going 1-2 over the weekend at The Best of the West Tournament, the Gamecocks fell to their lowest ranking in the poll of the season.

The poll will be released bi-monthly with the next announcement scheduled for March 15, 2011.

The Gamecocks return to action on March 19 when South Carolina hosts No. 10 New Mexico State for Senior Day. Seniors Hailey Thornton, Alex Foster, Chloe Gray, and Abbey Rohde will all be honored as part of the Senior Day festivities.
