COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina’s equestrian team enjoyed another year of academic success, as the final academic honors of the 2010-2011 school year were announced this week.
Among this year’s highlights for Gamecock Equestrian:
– 22 equestrians named to the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll
– 8 equestrians named to the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll
– 7 equestrians named to the President’s List during the Fall 2010 semester
– 6 equestrians named to the President’s List during the Spring 2011 semester
– 3.351 team GPA
“I’m very proud of our girls for their academic honors from this past school year, and as a coach, it’s great to see our student-athletes succeed in the classroom,” South Carolina head coach Boo Major said. “We owe a lot of thanks to Rob Campbell and the rest of the wonderful staff in the Dodie for their hard work.”

“We had a solid group of girls this past season, and what’s great news for us is the fact that almost all of them will be back with us next month when the team reports for the beginning of the season,” Major said. “They have tough schedules – between class, practice, competitions, travel, and other clubs they may be involved in, it takes a lot of discipline and commitment to succeed in the classroom.”
