At Sunday’s women’s basketball game, boys and girls age 7-12 can register for the Cocky’s Junior Sportscaster Contest, presented by the University of South Carolina and ABC Columbia. Contestants will have the opportunity to be filmed by ABC Columbia’s production team reading a script as an actual sports anchor. From the contestants, one boy and one girl will be chosen to appear on ABC Columbia News along side sports anchor Tim Hill and Cocky.
All videos will be uploaded to www.abccolumbia.com. The ABC News team will select 16 semifinalists. The general public will vote on those semifinalists from 9 a.m. on Feb. 27 through 6 p.m. on March 2. The boy and girl contestants with the most votes, respectively, will be declared the winners.
