Freshman Sabrina D’Angelo is one of 20 athletes competing for the Canadian U-20 Women’s National Team at the 2012 CONCACAF Championships in Panama City. Sabrina will provide a blog throughout Canada’s run in the World Cup qualifying tournament to provide Gamecock fans an inside look into her experience. Canada – grouped with Haiti, Jamaica and Mexico in the group stage – begins competition Thursday, March 1 at 5 p.m. (ET) against Haiti.

Hey Gamecock Fans!

We arrived in Panama two days ago and it is definitely much hotter than Costa Rica where we trained. The last two weeks in Costa Rica were great. A lot of hard work and sweat was put out on the field, but also many jokes and fun times off the field. Yesterday was our ‘official training’ at the stadium (every team gets exactly 45 minutes on the game field prior) and it was gorgeous. I got chills thinking that it was only a couple of days until our first game. We play Haiti tomorrow and the team and I are definitely ready to go. It’s show time, lets go Canada! 🙂
