COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina freshman forward Anthony Gill (Fr.; F; 6-8; 225; Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Christian) has been granted permission to contact other NCAA institutions to discuss a potential transfer, Gamecock head coach Frank Martin announced on Friday. The permission to contact was not restrictive to specific institutions.
“We’re going to allow Anthony to go through the recruiting process again, and South Carolina will be involved in that,” Martin said.
Gill saw action in all 31 contests during his freshman campaign in 2011-12 at South Carolina with 26 starts on the year. He averaged 7.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 25.3 minutes per game. Gill posted seven double-figure scoring games and led or shared the team lead in scoring five times and in rebounding six times.
