COLUMBIA, S.C. – Men’s basketball student-athlete Damontre Harris (So. – F – 6-9 – 226 – Fayetteville, N.C./Trinity Christian) has requested permission to contact other four-year NCAA institutions in order to explore the option of transferring from the University of South Carolina. The institution is continuing to work with Damontre regarding his possible options.

Harris posted 6.8 points and a team-high 5.5 rebounds per game in 31 games for South Carolina during his sophomore season in 2011-12. Harris led or shared the team lead in rebounding 13 times, in blocks 19 times and he posted nine double-figure scoring games during the year. He also posted 17 games with two or more blocks and recorded two double-doubles.
