Gamecock equestrian fans and supporters are encouraged to vote for South Carolina freshman equestrian Katherine Schmidt for this year’s AgSouth Female Athlete of the Year.

Schmidt is South Carolina’s first Hunt Seat rider to be named an All-American, an honor she earned by leading the team in overall wins this season. During her first year as a Gamecock, Schmidt posted a record of 25-7 with five MVP’s, including a perfect 6-0 mark at the NCEA National Championships last week in Waco.

The winning male and female student-athletes will be honored at an upcoming baseball game. Last year, equestrian Kimberly McCormack was voted AgSouth Female Athlete of the Year.
