COLUMBIA, S.C. –
The two remaining games in the men’s basketball series between South Carolina and Western Kentucky have been cancelled, South Carolina athletics director Eric Hyman announced on Thursday.

“The contract with Western Kentucky was signed as part of the agreement when we hired Darrin Horn. With a new staff in place and different scheduling philosophies it is important that we give them flexibility moving forward,” Hyman said.

Originally contracted to be a four-game series, the teams met twice under the contract. South Carolina earned a 74-56 win in the first meeting between the two schools in Columbia on December 2, 2009, and the Gamecocks posted an 87-85 double-overtime win the following season at WKU on November 27, 2010.
