University of South Carolina President Dr. Harris Pastides and First Lady Patricia Moore-Pastides welcomed the equestrian team to the President’s House for a reception last month to celebrate the team’s achievements this season.
President and Mrs. Pastides praised the team for their many achievements and for serving as great representatives of the University. The team enjoyed a tour of the historic home on the University’s Horseshoe. Their hosts relayed tales of the various dignitaries that have stayed at the home since it was built in 1854 as well as stories about day-to-day life in the house both historically and today.
Before and after the tour, the President and First Lady mingled with the team, getting to know more about them and some in depth knowledge about the sport.
