Republished from their personal blog with permission from the authors, we’re going to catch up with Gamecock volleyball student-athletes Cara Howley and Lindsey Craft during their trip to Spain as part of their international business program. We have a surprise visitor in Spain this weekend! Momma Howley is in Salamanca, so we are finally getting to be tourists here! So far, we have eaten American meals (not at odd hours of the night), walked to all of the hidden wonders of Salamanca, and done a little shopping, of course. Mom doesn’t understand that speaking English loudly and using hand gestures doesn’t make Spaniards understand what you are saying. We have gotten into some awkward situations due to this, but I’m sure the elderly couple she took pictures of and the homeless graffiti artist she gave a quarter to will forgive her. Luckily, she has us as her own personal translators (for free!). Tomorrow, we are all taking a much-needed break from school and head to Madrid for the weekend! We are going to explore the city and hopefully learn how to salsa!

Buenos noches from Cara, Lindsey and Christy!
