COLUMBIA, S.C. – A pair of Gamecocks have been named to the College Sports Madness Preseason All-SEC team, the organization announced Monday morning.

Sophomore goalkeeper Sabrina D’Angelo was selected as a First Team member, and senior defender Dani Henry was selected as a Second Team member. D’Angelo is coming off a Freshman All-America campaign that saw her earn the SEC Freshman, Goalkeeper and Co-Defensive Player of the Year honors. She will miss the first four to six games of the season while competing for Canada at the Under-20 Women’s World Cup. Henry is the senior leader of a backline that has established itself as a dominant force in the SEC over the past three seasons. In both of Henry’s seasons as a starter, the Gamecocks have led the SEC regular season in nearly every major defensive category, including goals allowed, goals against average, shots on goal allowed and points allowed while limiting conference opponents to four shots on goal or less in 18 of 22 games.

No. 24 South Carolina opens its season Friday, August 17, at UW-Milwaukee. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. (ET). Season ticket prices are $25 for adults and $10 for youth. They can be purchased at GamecocksOnline.com or by calling (800) 4SC-FANS.
