COLUMBIA, S.C. — Sophomore Cara Howley from the Gamecock volleyball team has been named AgSouth Athlete of the Week.
Howley was named MVP of the Gamecock Invitational. She ranked second among the qualifying Gamecock attackers with a .397 hitting percentage on the weekend and also topped the team with 1.00 block average. She was third on the team in both kills (2.31) and points (3.08) per set. Howley hit .636 (7-0-11) in the triumph over Akron and tallied 12 kills and four block assists in the ETSU contest.
Other nominees for the award included Coryn Bajema of women’s soccer and Stephen Anderson from men’s soccer.
