CHARLESTON, S.C. — South Carolina incoming freshman Katelyn Dambaugh posted a solid 1-over 72 Tuesday afternoon to make the cut for match play at the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship at the Country Club of Charleston.

Dambaugh finished the stroke play portion of the championship in a tie for 30th with a two-round total of 146 (+4), becoming one of 64 golfers to advance to match play.

A native of Goose Creek, S.C., Dambaugh finished her round with two birdies, three bogeys and 13 pars on Tuesday, with the birdies coming on the par-5 fifth and par-5 ninth holes.

Yumi Matsubara of Japan finished atop the stroke-play leaderboard with a total of 135 (-7).

Dambaugh will face Mariel Galdiano of Pearl City, Hawaii in the opening round of match play on Wednesday at 1 p.m. The winner will advance to the round of 32, which will be held on Thursday. Live results will be available at USGA.org.
