The South Carolina Women’s golf team is ranked 16th in the latest Golf World/NGCA Division I College Women’s Coaches’ Poll (Oct. 16, 2013). No. 16 is the highest-ever ranking achieved by the Gamecocks in this poll.

The Gamecocks have placed in the top-10 at all of their fall tournaments thus far, including a tie for fifth place with then-No. 2 Alabama and then-No. 11 Clemson at the Tar Heel Invitational last week.

Southern California retains the No. 1 spot in the rankings and UCLA claimed the No. 2 spot. Oklahoma State, Oklahoma and Duke round out the top-5, respectively.

Along with South Carolina, five other SEC schools earned rankings including two in the top-10 with Alabama at No. 6 and Arkansas at No. 8.

South Carolina also remains in the top-20 in the latest Golfstat rankings (Oct. 16, 2013) coming in at No. 19. UCLA earned the No. 1 spot with Southern California and Oklahoma State rounding out the top-3.

The Gamecocks return to action Oct. 25-27 at the Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, N.C.
