COLUMBIA, S.C. – Senior forward Danielle Au and junior goalkeeper Sabrina D’Angelo were named to the Capital One Academic All-District 4 Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced.
Au is ranked fourth all-time in goals at South Carolina with 22, while scoring six of those this season. She also ranks fourth in career points (55) and third in game-winning goals (10). In the first week of the season, she tallied one of those game-winners in a 1-0 victory over then-No. 7 Duke to give program its first win on its home field over a Top 10 team since 2004. This is the second-straight year she has been named to the All-District Team.
One of the top keepers in the nation, D’Angelo was fourth in the season in shutouts (10) heading into the final regular season game of the season. She also ranked in the top 20 nationally in save percentage. In 55 starts, she is second in program history with 17 shutouts.
The Gamecocks have now had at least one player make the Academic All-District Team in nine of the past 10 years. South Carolina is the only school in District 4 to have two student-athletes make the team.
Next up for the Gamecocks will be a showdown with Georgia in Orange Beach, Ala. in the SEC quarterfinals on Nov. 6 at 3:30 p.m. ET. South Carolina is the No. 3 seed while Georgia is the No. 6 seed.
