COLUMBIA, S.C. — Sophomore Jeffrey Torda from the South Carolina men’s soccer team has been named AgSouth Athlete of the Week.

In South Carolina’s 4-3 come-from-behind victory over No. 10 UAB, Torda notched the first multi-goal game of his career. The midfielder gave the Gamecocks an early 1-0 lead in the ninth minute on an unassisted tally. With South Carolina trailing 2-3 in the 85th minute, Torda equalized with his second score of the day. The Gamecocks netted the game-winner just 44 seconds later on a strike from junior forward Asa Kryst. Torda launched a game-high five shots and put four on frame.

He now has four goals on the season, ranking second on the team. The win pushed the Gamecocks ahead of the Blazers to third place in the conference standings and secured a spot in the conference tournament.
