COLUMBIA, S.C. – Fans planning to attend Wednesday’s game between No. 10/10 South Carolina and No. 15/14 North Carolina in Myrtle Beach, S.C., are advised to arrive early to ensure the best seating in the 5,000-seat Myrtle Beach Convention Center. The top-15 border battle is scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m., but there is another game starting at 5 p.m. All seating is general admission with a $10 ticket good for both games.
Wednesday will mark the eighth time the Gamecocks face the Tar Heels in the Myrtle Beach event but just the third in which both teams are nationally ranked. Overall, South Carolina has won three times, including the most recent meeting – a 79-48 victory over the then-No. 18 Tar Heels on Dec. 18, 2011. This game will be the first of the stretch in which the Gamecocks are ranked higher than the Tar Heels.
