COLUMBIA, S.C. – Join the South Carolina women’s basketball team and Athletics Department for “Tweet Week”, starting Mon., Jan. 27, and ending Sun., Feb. 2, as the Gamecocks take on Missouri.
Be on the lookout for the #WBBTweetWk official hashtag on Twitter this week and be sure to follow the team’s Twitter account, @GamecockWBB. As an extension of the department’s “Drive for 5” attendance campaign, one goal of Tweet Week is reach 5,000 followers on the team account, which currently has 4,100. If @GamecockWBB reaches 5,000 followers before the end of the week, one follower will receive a special prize.
#WBBTweetWk will include extensive social media coverage, primarily Twitter, of the women’s basketball program, including daily unique content (Twitter Q&As, Instagram video messages), behind the scenes photos and videos with the team, coverage of marketing efforts (Greene St appearances, T-Shirt images), contests and giveaways, and a “Tweet Suite” at the game against Missouri on Feb. 2, where 12 lucky Twitter followers will enjoy free snacks and drinks while tweeting about the game.

Other marketing efforts this week include a “There’s No Place Like Home” theme as the team is undefeated at Colonial Life Arena this season and has back-to-back home games for the first time in nearly a month. Sunday’s game will feature a push for 2,200 Carolina students to attend the game and t-shirt giveaways for both students and fans.
